Diagnostic Testing

DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

Doppler Ultrasound

Doppler Studies

Doppler ultrasound test is used to uncover blood circulation in the body and it monitors how blood flows through the blood vessels. It can show blocked or troubled blood flow through the blood vessels. Doppler studies can discover blood clots or clogged arteries at almost any part of the body. It can evaluate artherosclerosis, varicose veins, possibility of or reasons for a heart attack, evaluate the health of a fetus, and guide laser treatment in the varicose vein.

Echocardiograms

Echo cardiograms is an ultrasound test to assess whether the patient suffers from abnormal heart valves, abnormal heart rhythms, congenital heart disease, possibility of a heart attack, or pulmonary hypertension. An echo cardiogram is usually done transthoracically, and if that test does not yield results, it is done transesophageally. Echocardiogram is an ultrasound test to assess the health of different parts of the heart. Empire Medical has an excellent cardiology department to assess the health of the heart and offer guidance for the best cardiac assistance.

ANSAR

ANSAR

ANSAR is a painless, diagnostic procedure to assess the functioning of a patient’s nervous system. It also helps determine the extent to which the nervous system and brain are affected by previous accidents, injuries and shocks. ANSAR testing provides doctors at Empire Medical with detailed and precise data about the stages of a nerve or neurological disorder. It helps assess problems in respiration, digestion, and blood flow.

Allergy Skin Test

Allergy skin tests are used to assess dermatological disorders. The patient’s skin is exposed to suspected allergy-causing substances (allergens) and is then observed for signs of an allergic reaction. Allergy tests may help the doctor develop an allergy treatment plan that includes allergen avoidance, medications or allergy shots (immunotherapy).

Sudoscan

Sudoscan measures electrochemical skin conductance (ESC) of hands and feet through reverse iontophoresis. Sudoscan is a promising, sensitive tool to detect neuropathy in patients with DM (diabetic melitus). Changes in peripheral autonomic nervous system function are an early manifestation of distal small fiber neuropathy. Sudomotor dysfunction is one of the earliest detectable neurophysiologic abnormalities in distal small fiber neuropathies.

Laboratory Tests

Laboratory Tests check urine, blood and stool samples for physical disorders. The tests use a range because what is normal differs from person to person. They assess a series of physical diseases, diabetes, thyroid, high cholestrol, sexually transmitted diseases and urinary tract infections, hepatitis, rheumatological conditions and joint pain.

Sonogram

Sonogram

Sonogram uses ultrasound waves to create a picture of something growing inside a person’s body. This is a very common procedure in pregnancy. It produces black and white as well as color pictures of the fetus and is especially useful for pregnant women. Sonograms are useful to assess gynecological disorders, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, monitor unusual growths like tumors, internal injuries, organ malformations, etc. Apart from ob-gyn uses, sonogram can also be used to test for tumors in the kidney, liver and aneurysms of all kinds. They are the most advantageous form of medical test because of their non-invasive nature.

X-Ray

Electromagnetic waves that take images of the inside of a body can help discover the cause behind a physical discomfort. We use X-ray diagnosis to determine existence of broken bones, infection in organs, fluid in lungs, scoliosis, arthritis, infections in organs and tumors.
